The Wine Rogue began in Dec. 2009 when I asked the local paper if they could use a wine column. The editor asked for a couple 400 word samples and voila! The format for The Wine Rogue was born.
Either by accident or design–okay, completely by accident, the format has proved itself popular. It’s short enough to read while on the toilet and it normally recommends just one good wine per column. But even more important, it doesn’t go on and on with those boring tasting notes where some wine nerd describes “hints of forest floor” or “nuances of herbaceousness.” It’s really more of a wine review for the rest of us.
I taste a lot of wine and reserve only the special ones for The Wine Rogue.
Many weeks the Wine Rogue’s viewership approaches 200,000 viewers.
